The film was originally called larceny lane. The supporting cast was extremely effective and included Ray Milland, Noel Francis,Louis Calhern and Polly Walters. Still making 450. per week , Cagney walked off the studio after the completion of this film. He returned to New York where he would remain for three months. Warner's then signed him to a new contract at $1000 per week
